Laser Hair Removal Machines

Laser Hair Removal

The laser hair removal machine is a cosmetic equipment that can be used to get rid of unwanted hair.

The procedure itself is in great demand among both women and men, because it does not take much time and, practically, has no side effects. This method is more effective than depilation with wax, tweezers or razor, because the result from such procedures lasts no more than 2-3 weeks.

Different types of lasers are based on the same principle. The hair follicle is exposed to laser radiation, during which the follicle is destroyed. The effectiveness of the method is influenced by a huge number of internal and external factors. There are also differences between laser devices that affect the epilation result. We propose to consider in more detail all the devices that exist today.

What are the devices for laser hair removal

There are several types of devices for laser hair removal, among which we can highlight:

  1. Diode laser
  2. Alexandrite
  3. Ruby
  4. Neodymium

These devices differ in the duration of the pulses, the wavelength of the emitted light and the energy of the radiation.

Diode laser

The diode laser is recognized as the gold standard for laser hair removal. The machines have been specially designed to remove unwanted hair. The wavelength of this laser is 808 nm, which allows the light beam to penetrate into the dermis by 2-4 mm. It is at this depth that the follicles are located, i.e. the beam is aimed at the bulb, while not touching the upper layers of the skin. The working surface of the laser allows you to damage a sufficiently large number of follicles in one procedure. And the built-in cooling system makes the procedure practically painless and safe.

The L24 salon uses Lumenis LightSheer ET and D-Las 50 for laser hair removal. These are devices of the 4th generation, which allow you to remove unwanted hair even on the most sensitive areas of not only the body, but also the face. With their help, you can get rid of unwanted hair on the face, arms, legs, abdomen, etc.

Alexandrite laser

Alexandrite laser is one of the very first representatives in the world of laser hair removal. The device has a wavelength of 755 nm. This laser belongs to the second generation, its main disadvantage is that the laser does not lend itself to the removal of light hair, and it is also not effective for dark skin.

The peculiarity of the procedure is that for work it was necessary to grow hair by 2-3 mm. And during the session itself, no gel was applied. With the help of the alexandrite laser, you can also remove tattoos, get rid of the vascular “mesh”, reduce the appearance of freckles and pigmentation on the skin.

Ruby laser

The Ruby Laser is a pioneer in the world of laser hair removal. The wavelength of the device is 694 nm. Such a length of radiation does not allow reaching all the follicles, destroying only those that are on the surface of the skin.

Devices equipped with a ruby laser are classified as the first generation. The sensations from the procedure were painful, and the process itself took a lot of time, because the impulse was delivered – 1 per second. This is a very low speed by modern standards. These models did not work well with light hair and dark skin. Today, the ruby laser is practically not used.

Neodymium laser

One of the latest developments in the beauty industry is the neodymium laser laser hair removal device. The length of the light radiation is 1064 nm, which allows you to safely perform laser hair removal. This machine can work effectively with vellus, light hair and dark skin.

A unique feature is that the device is able to respond not only to melanin, but also to oxyhemoglobin, which expands its capabilities. Neodymium laser is actively used to eliminate scars, remove tattoos, reduce acne marks and scars.

The modern cooling system makes the procedure not only effective, but also comfortable. And built-in filters exclude the possibility of burns.

Home lasers

Today, laser hair removal can be done even at home. But it is impossible to compare the effectiveness of such procedures with those that were done in the salon. There are several reasons for this:

  1. The lasers that are installed in cosmetology centers are much more powerful, plus, they have more flexible settings.
  2. Laser hair removal in the salon is done by a specially trained doctor who has the skills and experience in this procedure.
  3. Due to the fact that the salon apparatus is much more powerful, you will need fewer procedures, and the session itself will take less time than at home.

How many sessions are needed

A feature of laser hair removal is that it is effective for those bulbs that are in the active growth phase. On average, this is 15-30% of all hair. For this reason, in one session, under optimal circumstances, you can damage no more than 30%. In order to damage all the bulbs, you need to take a course of 6 to 10 sessions. But it should be remembered that both the hormonal background of a person and the intake of drugs affect hair growth, therefore it is difficult to distinguish the exact number of procedures, an individual approach is needed here.
